Miquel Gelabert to replace injured Matteo Grattarola
Unfortunately, Matteo Grattarola has been declared unfit to compete in today’s DL12 Indoor Trial at the Utilita Arena Sheffield.
A heavy crash during a mid-week training session in his native Italy saw Matteo have to undergo a scan in order to diagnose the full extent of the injury to his left shoulder.
The results revealed damage to the muscle in his upper arm that will put him out of action for a minimum of five days and therefore make him unable to return to the Sheffield based competition for the second year running.
Spain’s Miquel Gelabert will replace Grattarola in today’s event with the twenty-five-year-old eager to repeat the form that saw him challenge for podium placings at the closing rounds of the 2023 TrialGP series. The world number nine placed third when he last competed in the UK back in 2018 at the TrialGP round held at Addingham Moorside.
The entire DL12 Indoor Trial Team wishes Matteo a full and speedy recovery and would like to thank Miquel for stepping in at such short notice.
