2024 FIM Trial2 World Champion Jack Peace confirms his return to Steel City

A veteran of the first-ever DL12 Indoor Trial back in 2023, newly-crowned FIM Trial2 World Champion Jack Peace – Sherco will return to Sheffield’s Utilita Arena on Saturday 18th January 2025 for the third edition of the star-studded event that has already established itself as one of the premier Indoor Trials on the global calendar.

The twenty-four-year-old from Scarborough, who was TrialGB Champion in 2023, is in the form of his life and although his New Year opposition at the DL12 Indoor Trial V3.0 will comprise the biggest names in the sport – including legendary thirty-five-time FIM World Champion Toni Bou along with riders of the calibre of Gabriel Marcelli, Jaime Busto and three-time Sheffield winner Adam Raga – he has set himself an ambitious goal.

“I really want to get into the top four and reach the final,” he said. “I’m definitely capable of doing that, but I know I’ve set myself a very tough goal considering the competition. The scale of the Sheffield sections is very big, but I’m confident riding them – it’s just that there’s a very fine margin between a clean and a five.”

The Sheffield fans are famous around the world for their knowledge and passion and with fellow home-grown stars Toby Martyn and Harry Hemingway also scheduled to compete, Peace is aiming to give a capacity audience good cause to bring the house down – especially if he can improve on his 2023 result and make it through the heat stage.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I don’t have much experience doing indoor events so it’s great to be invited, especially when it’s so close to home and I know I’ll have a lot of support from my family and friends.”

While Peace openly acknowledges that he is a relative newcomer when it comes to the intense world of Indoor Trials, he is determined to put in the hours of hard work necessary to polish his skills to prepare for the kind of sections that can test the limits of the world’s elite. Part of his preparations will take place at his home in North Yorkshire and he will also head to the warmer climes of Spain where he plans to spend time with fellow Sherco rider – and six-time FIM World Champion – Raga.

“At home I do have an area we’ve built ourselves which is for general practise to be honest, but it is man-made so it does relate quite well to the indoor stuff. Also, over winter I’ll spend quite a lot of time in Spain and I’ll gear a few weeks of my training to indoor-style sections.

“The plan is to practise with Adam again which has been really good for me. I spent quite a lot of time with Adam this winter in Spain and training with him helped push my level – I’m learning all the time.”
